Don't miss the hilarious Barber of Seville!
In the final throes of winter, Minnesota Opera conjures the magic of snowfall in The Snowy Day by Atlanta-based composer Joel Thompson and librettist and New York Times bestselling author Andrea Davis Pinkney! Based on the beloved 1962 children's picture book by Ezra Jack Keats, The Snowy Day follows the frosty adventures of Peter, a child who wakes up to the season's first snowfall.
Playing like an operatic version of a greatest hits album, enjoy the madcap comedy The Barber of Seville, as the mischievous Count Almavira and his wily servant Figaro strive to woo the witty and beautiful Rosina right out from under the nose of her minder, Dr. Bartolo. With devious disguises and meddlesome mishaps, the fate of the heart of this young girl is one thrilling and hilarious ride in this Minnesota Opera production directed by Chuck Hudson.
In an original production from director Matthew Ozawa, Shakespeare's story of star-crossed lovers is created anew in this production from Minnesota Opera! Elevated by Charles Gounod's exhilarating music with lyrics by Jules Barbier and Michel Carre, this glittering production of the timeless story is a thrilling piece of opera to witness! Performed in French with subtitles displayed above the performers.
