A brand new musical with all new original songs written by Country Hall of Famer Dolly Parton!
Get into the holiday swing of things with the exciting world premiere of Dolly Parton's Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol, a brand holiday-themed musical penned by the living legend herself! For three special performances only, an ensemble cast and live acoustic band will stage a live reading, performing the original score and giving audiences a sneak peek into the forthcoming fully-fledged production. Dust off your cowboy boots and santa hats, 'cause it's Christmas with a country twist!
Based on both Parton's festive feel-good hit Smoky Mountain Christmas and the Yuletide classic A Christmas Carol, the story transports the action to the mountains of Tennessee, where mining company bigwig Ebenezer Scrooge reigns tyrannically. As in the original, Scrooge has a date set with destiny, meeting the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, who hold a mirror up to his curmudgeonly ways.
