It's hard to put into words the depth of this musical. I have seen it in multiple cities. It is a shame it did not last long on Broadway. Ostensibly, it tells the story of a community banding together to build one last ship and save a shipyard from going out of business. But Sting's lyrics are brilliantly layered. All the songs are dripping with spirituality and a a sense of longing. The "last ship" is a metaphor for dying. Basically, what happens next when the last ship sails? They are lyrics Sting likely wouldn't have written when he was younger. This musical is well worth seeing, through the script is not as good as Broadway because they eliminated some characters and changed it significantly. But it's still fantastic.

GREAT SINGING AND MEANINGFUL PLOT
In this era of Disney musicals it is a pleasure to hear something that doesn't sound like every other musical. The cast is outstanding, with fabulous voices. And the plot is still timely, with a business owner throwing the workers under the bus. I really am not a Sting fan, but my 50 year old daughter is -- and she was thrilled to see and hear him in person.

MOVING STORY, DAZZLING EFFECTS
I wanted to see this musical ever since it was on Broadway. I know that it has been reworked, and I assume it is even better now. The story is a moving account of a struggling ship-building town and their efforts to survive. The characters are human, and have a full range of emotions. I was especially dazzled by the creative technical effects to convey the mood and environmental conditions. The voices were excellent, and the character portrayed by Sting was particularly fascinating to watch.

THE LAST SHIP “SAILS”
At 1st I was a little skeptical of a musical just because the famous “Sting” was involved, but was pleasantly surprised as the story unfolded telling a believable human tale of a small town trying to save a dying industry and way of life. The production was well staged with spirited performances and songs to match. The standing ovation as they took their bows is the only recommendation you’ll need to put the play on your list and make the drive to see this show before it’s gone!

STING & THE LAST SHIP
Went to see this on Saturday as part of our season passes with my family. The story was good and the music and singing even better. My husband and daughter said it is in their top 3 for musicals, Hamilton #1, Come From Away #2 and this is #3. We see a lot of plays & I do agree with them. I think this is a historical story as well. The singing and acting is exceptional. Its about love, loss and new beginnings. It's inspirational. See it for yourself and decide.
